How the Heat-Pump System Works

 A heat-pump system circulates refrigerant in a closed loop: it absorbs heat from the ambient air (or ground or water source), compresses it to raise its temperature, and transfers it to the heating/hot-water circuit. Unlike traditional resistive heaters or boilers, heat-pumps “move” heat rather than generate it, enabling high coefficient of performance (COP).

  • Refrigerant evaporates, is compressed, then condenses releasing heat to indoor water or air circuit.
